About Kelly Sweda
That’s me on the left, around 12 years old. I grew up in North County San Diego, on the beach near the Oceanside Pier. I was a four-point-something GPA student, a tennis player, and a swimmer — and I learned my love of photography from my dad. That’s him on the right, likely capturing that very moment.
An introvert and a natural observer, I take an editorial, documentary-style approach to photographing families—working with those who are drawn to something a little less traditional. If you’re hoping for a portrait with everyone looking at the camera, just let me know. Otherwise, I’ll focus on the in-between: candid snippets of time, natural light, movement, touch, and connection.
If your images make you feel as much as they make you smile, then I’ve done my job well.
For the brand clients I serve: as a female business owner myself, I understand the value that thoughtful, high-quality imagery brings to your visual storytelling and online presence. Whether for your website, blog, or social media, I’ll work with you one-on-one to create a custom photography experience that reflects your brand and connects with your audience.
