Family Photography FAQs
When it comes to family photos, I've always paid a set price for all the digital images. The idea of paying a session fee now and investing in a Photography Collection later feels new and different. What's a Photography Collection and why do you do it this way?
At the beginning of 2018, I sent out a survey to more than 300 friends, clients and fellow photographers. The results were clear: More than 50 percent didn’t want a zip drive loaded with a hundred digital images they feared they’d never get around to printing. They wanted options, and my Collections offer just that.
Most Collections include a set number of high resolution, digital images that you choose, as well as a coffee table album or a selection of prints. Two Collections include the full set of digitals. You will preview the full set of images from your shoot before deciding which Collection to buy. This way, you're only purchasing images you love.
So, I pay my session fee now, and then what?
About two weeks after your shoot I'll send you a link to your full gallery of images. You'll have a three-day window of your choice to preview it and purchase whatever Collection you’d like.
Let's be sure I understand. By the time I purchase my Collection, I'll probably have forgotten all about the session fee I've already paid!
Yes, that's part of the point. I understand that family photos are an investment and that breaking up the cost can be super helpful. I believe that a package and pricing structure like this will make getting family photos attainable to everyone.
Tell me about the albums that come in your Collections.
Collection 1 includes a 10"x8" hardcover, lay-flat album on double-thick, 100# stock. Pages lay flat with no center gutter break in between. The image of your choice will be printed directly onto both front and back covers, in lieu of a dust jacket.
Collection 2 includes the full set of digital images only. It does not include an album.
Collection 3 includes a 10”x8” hardcover album on Premium Lustre 100# paper. This paper offers great tonal range and contrast, with a hint of gloss. The cover is black linen, protected by a glossy dust jacket. You select the dust jacket image.
Collection 4 includes a 10"x8" hardcover album on Standard 80# paper. This paper offers a smooth, semi-matte finish. The cover is black linen, protected by a glossy dust jacket. You select the dust jacket image.
Will my album include all the images from our shoot even if the Collection I choose doesn't?
Yes! Unless you ask me to exclude certain images, your album will include everything.
And you’ll design it for me?
Yes! It's a very clean and simple layout meant to highlight each and every picture.
What if I opt for prints instead?
Collection 1 includes 8 professionally printed enlargements of your choice in the size combination of your choice (up to 11x14)
Collection 2 includes the full set of digital images only. It does not include prints.
Collection 3 includes 6 professionally printed enlargements of your choice in the size combination of your choice (up to 11x14)

I'm worried my toddler might not hold up for a full, hour-long shoot. Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes! I offer mini sessions seasonally. They are $500 total and include a 30-minute shoot and 10 high resolution, digital images of your choice, with the option to purchase additional digital downloads and printed products if you so choose. The full fee is due up front.
